With a lot of flora and fauna such as Tigers, leopards, chital, chinkara, langurs, nilgai, barking deer, blue bull, etc. this park is known as the ‘Jewel of Vidarbha’.
Keep your cameras ready to capture beauty as there are a lot of things to explore in and around Tadoba National Park or the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve.
1. Safari
Can you tell me the best way to explore the flora and fauna of the park other than the canter or gypsy safari? Gypsy safari and Canter safari in Tadoba National Park are the best options for exploring the park. While on your safari rides, you can enjoy spotting the Royal Bengal Tiger, or Indian Leopard, Barking deer, small Indian civet, flying squirrel, fox, jackal, wolf, etc., and the flora species such as Bija tree, Kusum tree, bark tree, bamboo groves, and grasses and so on. If you especially want a tiger sighting experience then book your ride for the Moharli zone as that one is famous among wildlife enthusiasts for prominent tiger sightings.
2. Safari At Night
This safari has recently been added to Tadoba National Park. Now, you can experience the thrill of the Jungle at Night. This safari is more popular than day safari among wildlife enthusiasts as it offers more thrill. During your safari, you don’t know which animal can come in front of your gypsy out of the blue at night. These safaris are best for experiencing the adventure of being inside a jungle at night. Many animals get active, especially during the night so it’s the best time to spot those animals. These safaris are action-packed as during your safari you can listen to the wild sounds of animals but you won’t be able to see them from a distance.
3. Machan Watch
This one is the latest tourist attraction in Tadoba Andheri Tiger Reserve. Machan watch is opened in the Moharli and Palasgaon buffer areas. People can go up by climbing and sit in these machans to spot wild animals from the top. The safaris that you have booked will take you on these machans. Two people can climb on machan with one guide at a time to enjoy panorami0c views with better sighting. People can carry their refreshments at the top but littering is not allowed so keep a plastic bag for disposing of your waste in it so that after the ride you can throw the plastic bag in the dustbin.
4. Village Visits
You can go for nature walks in the buffer zones of Tadoba. There are many villages in the buffer zones of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve and you can visit these areas. These villages are occupied by tribal groups of Gonds, Korkur, Kolams, and Andh, and you can spend time with them, and chat with them with help from a guide. People can go to their work areas and see nice bamboo works of furniture, home decor, baskets, swings, etc. that artisans and craftsmen make.
5. Sevagram
This is a town where Gandhi Ji (father of the nation) has set up an ashram, and he also lived here. This ashram is located at a 2 hours drive from Tadoba National Park and Gandhi Ji lived here from 1936 to his death in 1948. You can find artifacts of India’s freedom struggles in this museum. A trip to Sevagram will give you a glimpse of the memories of pre-independent India.
